BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's Agriculture Department has compiled a new guide on direct sales of farm products.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's Agriculture Department has compiled a new guide on direct sales of farm products.

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says the guide has been updated to reflect changes in laws and regulations that pertain to direct farm marketing. It has information on types of direct marketing, taxes, insurance, health regulations and safety codes.

Goehring says it's a valuable reference for people who sell products through farmers markets, roadside stands and pick-your-own gardens, or who sell directly to restaurants and food services.

The 36-page booklet is called "Farm to Market: North Dakota's Guide to Direct Farm Marketing." Copies are free. It's also available for download on the Agriculture Department website, at http://www.nd.gov/ndda .
