Barnesville, MN (WDAY TV) - About 20,000 people will stop by the small community of Barnesville for Potato Days this weekend.

The huge weekend event kicked off today.

There is a french fry feed tonight, along with the always entertaining mashed potato wrestling event.

Potato Days started back in 1938 and some of the original events like potato picking and peeling contests are still held today.

Theresa Olson- Executive Director: "Oh, it's fun. It's so much fun to see everything kind of come together and watching families having a really great time and doing lots of really fun, free festival activities."

Tomorrow's events will start off with a potato feed and 5K run.
