West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - There are a lot of players at the West Fargo table tonight testing the idea of a new, huge aquatics center for the city. The plan involves the school district, park board, city commission, aquatic stakeholders and the general public.

They're looking at the feasibility of a couple of options, the base one being about $21 million. The upgrade option is around $27.5 million. There is no word yet on how money would be raised, whether it would be a sales tax or bond referendum, but the project would need to be voted on by the public.

Dr. David Flowers - West Fargo Superintendent: "I'm hopeful that something of this nature that is collaborative that effects a wide spectrum of stake holders does get done, but I don't have a crystal ball.

Stu Isaac - Isaac Sports Group: "Even based on the kind of growth that we're projecting this is something that you're doing not just for this generation, but generations to come."

Officials say that the upgraded option could be the top training and event center in the upper Midwest, outside of the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
