Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- It was the best of times AND the worst of times for the Concordia football team last season.
The Cobbers, who held media day today, finished with 8 wins, their most in 7 years, and tied for 2nd in the MIAC. But they just missed on making the playoffs after being on the bubble, and have used that as motivation all offseason.
Concordia returns all-conference quarterback Griffin Neal on offense, and all-conference D-tackle Mark Wychor But they also have to replace 9 linemen and their 4 top tacklers. Still, the expectations have never been higher.
Mark Whiting- Concordia SR. Receiver: "None of us here have experience playoff football and we want it so bad. At the end of the season last year, we talked about our teams goals and every single one of us wanted to make it to the playoffs."
Bryce Hentges- Concordia Senior DB: "Just knowing how close we came and that we can get to that level again. It's just kind of. We gotta be on that same plane as the end of last year when we start week one. The level of expectation is a little higher."
Concordia needs five victories to reach 500 in program history.
