FARGO – A Moorhead man told Fargo police Sunday night that he was assaulted and robbed after being pulled from his car.
The incident reportedly happened about 10 p.m. in the 400 block of 21st Street South.
Police Lt. Joel Vettel said officers encountered the victim at a service station in Fargo and asked him about what appeared to be an injury to his head.
The man told the officers he was driving his vehicle when a man with a pistol walked into the path of his vehicle, forcing him to stop.
He said another man pulled him from his vehicle and struck him in the head with an object.
The victim said he was robbed of a small amount of cash and that he saw a total of three men running away.
Vettel said the assailants were described as black males and two of them were wearing dark-colored hoodies. The victim told police the third man wore his hair in dreadlocks.
Vettel said a police canine officer was brought in to attempt a track but the effort was unsuccessful.
