Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- In past years, a Saturday a few weeks before the season opener would've been filled with highlights of a NDSU fall scrimmage. But not anymore, as Craig Bohl closed practices to the media this season. So today's 56 play scrimmage at the Fargodome will be described with words only.

No one on the first team offense or defense played. Former Sargent Central standout Justin Arp, a redshirt freshman, caught a TD pass. Freshman cornerback Tre Dempsey returned a interception 65 yards for a score. But the story of the scrimmage was true freshman Chase Morlock, the Moorhead product. He ran for 2 touchdowns of 4 and 48 yards, pulling away from guys on the 2nd one, and making a bid to play as a true freshman.

Chase Morlock- TD Runs of 48 and 4 YDS Today: "I've always been a big dreamer so I came in here ready to play right away and ultimately, that's up to coach, but if they think I can compete, I'll be ready to do that. Special teams, that's the way to get on the field early in college, is on special teams, so working hard on specials."

After the scrimmage, Craig Bohl also said it's likely true freshman linebacker, Nick DeLuca, will play right away.
