FARGO — A man accused of cutting two people in his downtown Fargo apartment with a kitchen knife last week is charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault and one count of terrorizing, court documents show.
Authorities allege Eddie Walker, of Fargo, cut Kwame Johnson and Jenny Blackbird during a dispute at his apartment on Broadway.
Johnson and Walker had a fight about “past women they had slept with and who had more ‘power’ over the other,” according to Fargo Police Officer David Cochran’s report.
Cochran found Johnson on the 300 block of Roberts Street on Aug. 8 when he heard a male voice screaming, according to the police report.
Johnson said he blocked the knife attack with his left hand, which was cut. He was taken by ambulance to Sanford Health, where he underwent surgery for his injuries.
The report also states that Walker held a knife to Johnson’s throat and threatened to kill him. Blackbird said she was cut purposely by Walker when she tried to intervene.
Officers found pools and drops of blood at the entrance of the apartment building at 117½ Broadway leading up two flights of stairs and down a hallway to Walker’s apartment.
Walker was taken into custody in the early hours on Friday because officers could see blood inside his apartment.
A bloody towel and a knife matching the victim’s description were taken into evidence by police.
Walker is charged with two Class C felonies. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 3.
