Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Elementary and middle school students from Fargo and Moorhead are getting a taste of Chinese culture. About 50 students are taking part in a 2 week crash course called STARTALK at Trollwood.

From dance and cooking classes to art and language lessons, the program gives them a chance to dive in and learn Chinese. Students say in addition to learning, they're simply having fun with the hands-on experience.

Ellie Wachenheim - Moorhead Student: "I thought it would be hard, really hard, but since I have nice teachers teaching me, I'm good."

Meghan Moore - Moorhead Student: "I like the cooking, because we did a cooking class and we made spring rolls."

The program is funded through a presidential initiative grant started by George W. Bush back in 2006.
