Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - A Fargo man is behind bars after leading Moorhead police on a high speed chase right through town. Authorities say 21-year-old Raheem Kemokai was fleeing after he robbed a gas station.
The high speed chase started after a man walked into Brady's Service Center in South Moorhead around 9:30 Sunday night, then told the clerk he had a gun.
Brady Olson - Brady's Service Owner: "Just came up to the till, told the cashier that he wanted all the money out of the till. She asked if he was serious and he told her that he had a gun, and that she better hurry up."
Twenty-one year-old Raheem Kemokai then fled on foot with the cash, and eventually got into a vehicle. After spotting his car, police say Kemokai led them on a fast pace pursuit, right through residential parts of town.
Here's a look at some cell phone video of the chase courtesy of Alex Leuthard. Along the way, police used stop sticks to deflate Kemokai's tires.
Lieutenant Tory Jacobson, Moorhead Police: "He continued to drive on rims of his vehicle. He tried to go through some yards. Ultimately he bailed from his vehicle on foot and tried to hide in a backyard."
It wasn't long before officers found him in an area near the 900 block of 4th Street South.
Brady Olson: "I think they handled it very well and justice usually don't happen this easily."
Police say Brady should get the stolen items back.
Kemokai faces a long list of possible charges ranging from aggravated robbery to fleeing in a motor vehicle.
