Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- A perfect day for golf, while helping a local charity at the same time. Golfers fanned out across Rose Creek Golf Course in south Fargo for the 3rd annual fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley.

Together with the Youth Commission, the club serves hundreds of youth with after school and summer programs. The golf tournament is named for John Serati, a long time supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs. He passed away in 2010. The local organization continues to see a growing need.

Robin Nelson - Boys and Girls Club: "We have record registration from 40 members to 210 this year. That tells us there is a need out there to help these kids and they want mentors who are good role models."

Sixteen teams took part in today's tournament.
