Iraq War Veteran throws the first pitch at the RedHawks game

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- A local veteran and host of a radio show on 970-WDAY A-M was honored tonight. Eric Marts threw out the first pitch at the RedHawks game at Newman Outdoor Field tonight.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- A local veteran and host of a radio show on 970-WDAY A-M was honored tonight. Eric Marts threw out the first pitch at the RedHawks game at Newman Outdoor Field tonight.

Eric is an Iraq War Veteran who was blinded by a bomb 6 years ago. He's also host of the program, "Heroes of the Heartland," which you can hear Saturday mornings on WDAY Radio.

Eric Marts - Iraq War Veteran: "It got kind of noisy, but the catcher was snapping his glove and gave me a good target to sound in on. I'm glad I got it across the plate."

Heroes of the Heartland can be heard Saturday mornings at 10.
