Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Many of us are looking for ways to make life more simple, to do more in less time, and be more efficient with that time. From keeping tabs on the kids, to connecting with friends in unfamiliar places, even calling for help when you have car trouble, help is at your finger tips.

It's name says it all Glympse. The app gives people a glimpse of your location and allows them to track you in real time. It's different from some of the other location sharing apps because you have all of the control.

Here's how it works: Simply select a contact, either by text/email, or both, or even post a Glympse to all of your friends on Facebook or Twitter. Then, you set the duration of how long they can track you, anywhere from an instant to 4 hours. It's like a Snapchat for location sharing - after that window, they can't see where you are anymore.

Next, hit send it's as simple as that; Anyone with a smartphone or computer can open your link there's no setup required. Glympse can come in handy when you want to see where your kids are, or, for kids, how soon mom or dad will be home.

You can also show a tow truck exactly where your car is broken down Send a glympse to your family during the next marathon so they can track you on the course.

Since there's no texting and driving, your friends can follow you on Glympse and see how close you are, and if you're meeting someone in an unfamiliar city, you never need to get lost again.

Glympse is free in both the Apple and Google play markets.
