Williams County cracking down on crew camps

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — Williams County commissioners have rejected permit extension requests from two oil field crew camps and sent a message to others that time is running out for them to pay their permit fees.

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — Williams County commissioners have rejected permit extension requests from two oil field crew camps and sent a message to others that time is running out for them to pay their permit fees.

The Williston Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1ev21Zq) that some crew camps have paid their fees, but more than $3 million is still owed to the county. The commission is requiring all crew camps to pay what they owe by Tuesday or they will be shut down.

Commissioners cited safety concerns and neighbor complaints for not extending the permits of the two crew camps. Those camps have 60 days to shut down.
