Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- A former Fargo investment broker will spend

10-years in prison, after pleading guilty to 16 felony charges in a Ponzi-type fraud scheme.

Robert Medhus, who was accused of defrauding 19 clients, some childhood friends apologized today in Court.

His attorney asked for a reduce sentence to allow Medhus to re-pay some of the 900,000 dollars.

But Judge Frank Racek said his request to make restitution rings hollow,

because he hasn't paid back one dollar, since being charged in January.

Racek also sentenced Medhus to 2-more years in prison, than the prosecution requested.
