BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Five North Dakota groups are getting grant money from the state to develop and conduct Agriculture in the Classroom programs for the upcoming school year.

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says the grants total almost $59,000. The North Dakota Farm Bureau Federation is getting the most money, about $35,000.

Smaller grants are going to the North Dakota FFA Foundation, North Dakota State University, the North Dakota Geographic Alliance and the North Dakota Farmers Market Growers Association.

Goehring says Agriculture in the Classroom programs help students learn where their food comes from, and how to make healthy food choices.
