Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Key members of the Olmstead Plan cabinet were in Moorhead today to discuss disability service issues with members of the community.
The Olmstead Plan is in place to ensure Minnesotans with disabilities have the opportunity to learn, work, and enjoy life.
Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Prettner Solon, along with other members of the cabinet, received feedback from residents of the area and surrounding communities.
Residents say that while bigger cities are improving their handicap accessibility, it's smaller towns that need the most help.
Nate Aalgaard- Director, Freedom Resource Center: "I come from a small town a few miles north of here and I don't think I could really live in that small town anymore with being here in moorhead for several years and being able to go more or less everywhere I want and going to businesses, not every single one, but most of them, I can get what I want. In small town minnesota, there are still a lot of physical barriers."
All comments received today will be considered before the cabinet submits its final draft in November.
