Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Adam Thielen knows he's the longest of long shots and

it doesn't bother him one bit.

The Detroit Lakes High graduate went to Vikings rookie camp in May with low expectations and earned himself an invitation to training camp. Now he's trying to crack the 53 man roster and all along he's got his supporters from Lakes Country cheering him on.

Adam Thielen- Vikings Rookie Wide Receiver: "It's awesome I've had tremendous support from everyone back home, and Flint has been great all the way my whole college career, I go back and see him every time I'm back in Detroit Lakes and he's a great guy to have on your back."

To walk on here and now have a chance to earn your sport you know what the grind is coming up this is old hat for you you know what's exactly what's coming up?

Thielen: "Yeah that's what makes me working hard what motivates me; so I'm excited to see the challenge like it that way, that way in high school and

college and now I'm here; see what happens."

What do you think is the best attribute to say put me on the 53 man roster?

Thielen: "It's just what I do everyday, is work hard do my job slogan in college is do my job, that's something that sticks in my mind."

For everyone back home in Lakes Country and the high schoolers who would love to play for the Vikings and you're doing it?

Thielen: "Just work hard every day i always been a goal of my mind didn't know if I do it; always had it in back of my mind at 6 am workouts and its great to finally get here but keep working hard."
