Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- The baseball trade deadline came and went for the Minnesota Twins with little movement; there was one trade; but it wasn't Justin Morneau. The former AL MVP is still a Twin for now.

There was plenty of speculation and rumors about teams that were interested, including Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

Morneau is a free agent after the season which makes him attractive to other contending teams; but he's always maintained he wants to be a Twin.

Justin Morneau- 11th Season With the Twins: "I'm happy to be here; this is where I want to be; but if there's something that can help make this team better in the future; guess that's up to them; want to be a part of it; want to be apart of this city been great to be; but we'll see."

Morneau can still be dealt in August; he has to go thru waivers first; some reports say there's a strong chance that will happen. The trade Minnesota did make today; was sending backup catcher Drew Butera to the Dodgers for a player to be named later.
