Becker County, MN (WDAY TV)-- With WE Fest officially underway, police are going all out to make sure the 45,000 country music fans expected stay safe.

Becker county sheriff Kelly Shannon says that every officer they have will be on patrol throughout the event, all in an effort to make sure this year's event goes smoothly.

He says his many years of experience working the event has made it easier for him and his staff to make sure festival goers stay safe, have fun, and act responsibly.

Sheriff Kelly Shannon- Becker County: "We pretty much got this figured out down to a science, you know, we've done this for several years, management at WeFest are so organized here that it's sort of like a well oiled machine out here."

Shannon says a DWI task force is on hand this year to help crack down on impaired driving.
