Mankato, MN (WDAY TV)-- Even Mother Nature must be a football fan, she made sure the Vikings opening day of training camp felt a lot like fall with temperatures in the 60s.
Welcome to Mankato as we continue a summertime tradtion as WDAY is at Vikings training camp in Mankato.
The biggest question surrounding the purple is can they make the jump from playoff team to Super Bowl contender?
Leslie Frazier- Vikings Head Coach: "I think all our guys are really excited looking forward to this afternoon and our first practice. Kicking off this 2013 season and getting it going."
John Sullivan- Vikings Center: "2012 is over, that was a special for our team, special season for AP, but we have bigger goals and more success to achieve. That's our mindset."
Chad Greenway- 2013-13: 148 Tackles (Led Team): "The cards are all up in the air, we have a lot of young guys that are hungry so it's gonna be fun camp for us. We're a bunch of guys that'll all be rooting for each other, obviously trying to do your best but do better as a team as well."
Jared Allen- 2012-13: 12 Sacks: "Yes, it was a good season, yes no one thought we'd make it that far, yes there's things to build on. But again, every year stands on its own, you don't know who's gonna get hurt or what positions. This league is a bunch of moving parts and you just gotta take advantage of those chances when you get them. The expectation is to get back to where we were last year but in a better position."
Coming up in about an hour, we'll hear from more of the Vikings on the big expecations they're dealing with for the 2013 season.
