Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- If you're one of those do-it yourselfers, always looking for the next project. There are a lot of tutorials and advice out there to help. But you can find all of the help you need in one spot, letting you do it yourself just like a pro - because there's an app for that.

Want to make Gourmet cupcakes, learn how to swim, fix your car, fix your sink or do some much needed home repairs? The instructables app can walk you through it.

How about fixing an old cassette tape, making a Lego USB drive, or making a skirt from a bedsheet? Yep, it's all on instructables. The website that's been around for years is now an app for your smartphone.

Topics range from useful to entertaining, to delicious and even outrageous. instructables has more than 100,000 tutorials in the categories of technology, workshop, living, play, food, outside living and much more.

You see step by step instructions and photos to walk you through it. It's like having thousands of experts at your finger tips. We thought we'd try one, a science experiment: It told us to take a 20 oz. room temperature bottle of soda and shake it as hard as we could to build up pressure - then you put it in the freezer.

When you take it out, 3 hours 15 minutes later, it's colder than freezing but not frozen. Once you release the pressure and turn it upside-down, it's an instant slushie. It also works to remove the pressure slowly and pour it into a frosty container, or pouring the liquid into a glass. The more you stir, the thicker it becomes.

Once you get confident, you can create your own step-by-step guides and share them on instructables. You can follow people, they follow you and you can keep tabs on your favorites. instructables lets you do things yourself you didn't know you could, saving you time and money.

instructables is free in both the Google Play and Apple Markets.
