Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- A Sheriff's deputy from Mille Lacs appeared in the Otter Tail County court today, accused of inappropriately touching young boys.
Authorities say it happen at a church camp near Henning, where the man was volunteering.
Authorities say 29 year old Aaron Heuer sexually touched 4 boys all between 8 and 10 years old, and instructed them to have sexual contact with him.
He's now charged with 8 various counts of criminal sexual conduct.
The alleged incidents happened at Lutheran Island Camp. The camp coordinator says Heuer volunteered as a fishing guide from June 9th through the 21st.
Authorities say there were other incidents with 2 of the victims on separate fishing trips in Aitkin County.
Heuer was arrested yesterday in Mille Lacs.
Michelle Eldien- Assistant Otter Tail Co. Attorney: "He was brought in and we were ready, knowing it was coming we were prepared for it since last week."
Here's a statement from the camp's chairman.
"We are shocked and appalled by the charges against deputy Heuer.
We are profoundly saddened that children at our camp were hurt by the actions of an adult in a trusted position. The spiritual and physical well-being of our campers is our single most important priority."
eputy Heuer has been with the mille lacs sheriff's department for 6 years.
He's on administrative leave.
