Tribal health summit to be held next month in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — Tribal leaders and public health care professionals will gather in Aberdeen next month for the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen's Health Summit.

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — Tribal leaders and public health care professionals will gather in Aberdeen next month for the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen's Health Summit.

This is the third year for the event. It will be held Aug. 6-7 in Aberdeen. The focus of the summit will be maternal and child health.

Discussions about the federal health care law and how it will affect maternal and child health will also take place.

The Great Plains Tribal Chairmen's Health Board is made up of 18 member tribes in South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska. It advocates for federal health services for the tribes.
