Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- The American Red Cross is using technology to make it easier for you to make a difference when disasters strike.

This is the 7th app the Red Cross has brought to the open market, but the first of its kind that aims to recruit volunteers.

Once the app is downloaded, you create an account that then lets you learn about different jobs and volunteer opportunities in your area.

The app also allows people to donate money to the Red Cross and sign up to donate blood.

Judy Green- CEO American Red Cross: "What's so special about this one is it focuses specifically on our volunteers and so when you take a look at times of disaster or times of crisis we have so many people that spontaneously wanna volunteer with us or with the community."

The app is free and is available on both the Apple and Google Play markets.
