Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Fargo city leaders gathered for the first of what may be many meetings about building a new City Hall.

Leaders brain-stormed ideas on what they felt the new city hall should not only look like, but feel like.

Built in the 1960's, the current city hall building is experiencing some wear-and-tear as various mechanical problems throughout the old part of the building have been slowly piling up.

Mayor Walaker says that after 50 years, now is the time for a new city hall.

Mayor Dennis Walaker, Fargo: “We need people with more imagination to try and develop something in this area that's going to be, not only sustainable, but has some beauty.”

City leaders are in favor of a new downtown location, but will take up ideas to move elsewhere.
