Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Thousands of people have made their way out to the first day of the fair.
The fair is offering fun, arts, and crafts, but today fair goers had to deal with something else: The heat.
I'm at one of the smartest places to be when temperatures are as hot as they are: The shade. But another great option is the cooling tent.
With high temperatures and humidity in the forecast medical personnel are stepping in to make sure people stay safe. There are several cooling stations like this one. Cooling tents provide a mist to walk through to help cool you off.
You should be sure to drink plenty of water before, during, and after attending the fair. There are some warning signs of dehydration to look out for.
Fran Mosey, RN/Sanford: “If you are having any symptoms of dry mouth, headache, irritability, nausea, vomiting, you're probably dehydrated and you need to get help.”
Good news for people looking to come out tomorrow or Saturday temperatures should start to cool off but you should still take all the extra precautions to stay safe.
