Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Hearing about the seized dogs has hit close to home for a Fargo family.

Iris Bakke's family bought a dog from Darcy Smith's farm about a year and a half ago. She says at first their Pomeranian, named Hannah, was skittish and not comfortable around people but eventually adjusted.

She says Smith's farm didn't look like what they're seeing in police video now when she was there and she was shocked to hear the story on the news.

Iris Bakke, Got Dog from Smith: “We were pretty stunned. My daughter let me know from work and I was just kind of like ‘What’ because that's where we had gotten her and when we left the farm we had an uneasy feeling that there was a potential backyard breeder but obviously then is quite a bit different from now.”

Hannah the Pomeranian is now doing ok.
