Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It only seems fitting on a 90 degree day to talk about football. Training camps are right around the corner for both pro and college; high school is just a month away.
The state of Minnesota has prided itself as being a state where each team makes the postseason but a change may be coming.
That's because of the Prep Bowl moving outside over the next two years. The season may either start a week earlier than usual or the section playoff fields may be cut. A decision could be made next month by the high school league and it certainly won't be an easy one.
Kevin Feeney, Moorhead Head Coach: “I don't have a gut feeling as far as which side the state association will pick but I do have a feeling I would rather see the playoff field cut down just cause our regular season, being in the central lakes now having to play for conference championships, we'd love an opportunity to play as many teams as we can to put ourselves in a position to make playoffs and having an opportunity to win a championship. Just think quality of football is strong in central lakes and other conferences and you just don't see the upsets in those one versus six type games.”
The decision will be made either next month or in October by the high school league.
