Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The political chess match that is the 2013 Farm Bill has found its way back to the senate, again.

The previous senate-proposed farm bill included continued funding and support for food-assistance programs like food stamps. That bill was brought to the house and failed to garner bi-partisan support. The main issue: Spending.

Now, a House-revised version of the Farm Bill has reached the senate floor again, hoping this time, both sides will come to an agreement.

Sen. Al Franken, (D) Minnesota: β€œThe bottom line is the farm bill is the key to jobs in Minnesota. One out of every five jobs in Minnesota is tied to agriculture. We need to pass it as soon as possible.”

The senate vote on the Farm Bill has not yet been scheduled.
