Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- We could soon know the future of the former Pracs Institute research facility in Fargo that suddenly closed its doors in March.

Aldevron has made an offer to buy about half of the campus for $5.1 million, and a bankruptcy trustee has asked permission to auction the property August 1st.

PRACS had 544 beds for participants in drug trials, and employed about 400 people in Fargo.

Aldevron provides laboratory and production services for research labs and biotechnology companies, including DNA vaccines, oncology and agriculture.

It has about 60 employees in Fargo.

Aldevron had planned to expand the former Woodrow Wilson School near downtown Fargo, but renovation is on hold depending on the outcome of the PRACS offer.
