Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Elderly Barnes County residents don't have to worry about being left alone.

The Are You OK program is an easy way to check up on the health and safety of loved ones.

The automated system calls subscribers each week, to make sure those who are homebound aren't have any problems.

If the subscribers fails to answer, the program gets in touch with their designated emergency contact.

Dolly Hoelner- South Central Adult Services: "Sometimes families get wanting to know that their family member is ok or if they don't have family it is a wonderful source of making sure that they're ok."

There is no fee for the program, but donations can be made to off-set the cost of long distance calls.
