FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The couple trying to sell the most expensive home in North Dakota's largest city is living in the tallest building in the world while they downsize.
Plastic surgeons Kay and Ahmed Abdullah are selling their 7,241-square-foot home in Fargo for just under $3.3 million. Ahmed Abdullah still works in Fargo about 10 days each month, but he also works alongside his wife in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, as well as at a clinic in Pakistan.
The Abdullahs are renting an apartment in Dubai in the Burj Khalifa, the tallest man-made structure in the world at more than 2,700 feet, The Forum newspaper reported.
"That's a trade up, I guess," Ahmed Abdullah joked.
He and his wife are selling their 1.1-acre property along Fargo's Rose Creek Golf Course primarily because she is living in Dubai full time. Ahmed said once they find a buyer they plan to buy a smaller home in Fargo for when he is in town. When that will happen is anyone's guess.
It's "not a house that sells overnight," he said.
Ahmed Abdullah said he will continue to split his time between the three clinics in the three countries — a lifestyle that has seen him rack up more than half a million frequent flyer miles.
