Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Area animal rescue crews are volunteering their time and services, trying to help care for the 170 seized dogs from Wheatland.

The malnourished animals are currently staying at the Cassleton Vet Clinic undergoing treatment.

The vast volunteer effort kicked into high gear as soon as they got word of the area's largest dog hoarding operation.

The malnourished animals are currently staying at the Cassleton Vet Clinic undergoing treatment.

That's where doctors as well as area volunteers are all chipping in and working overtime.

150 volunteers from the 4 Luv of Dog Rescue are staffing Casselton Vet's temporary shelter. With 5 different volunteers working three times each day.

The rescue says it has already received numerous offers for adoption and extra aid.. But right now they're main concern is getting these animals back to good health.

Amy Kracht- 4 Luv of Dog Rescue Vice President: "A little bit terrified... But I think the shock has worn off. But offers of help have been coming in... Got emails all day..woke up to more this morning that I'd gotten from South Dakota shelters, very lucky we're from the midwest and everyone is willing to pitch in and help."

Kracht says anyone hoping to adopt a dog will have to wait. As they're not even sure if these dogs will be released yet.

She says the best thing to do to help is donate pet supplies or money for care.

Coming up at 6, hear about the law's North Dakota has regarding animal cruelty and breeding.
