Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It's that time of year again. The USA national junior and cadet wrestling championships begin Saturday at the Fargodome.

West Fargo's Jordan Shearer is one of those hunting for a national championship. Shearer already has four North Dakota state high school titles and he just finished his sophomore year. But, the caliber of competition he'll see next week will be the nation's best and that's exciting news for Shearer.

Jordan Shearer, Four-Time State Champ/West Fargo: “I want to wrestle some nationally ranked kids. I want to just get my name out there and show them how good I can be. In the long term it's for a college education and for a scholarship. So, I'd like to go out there and prove how good I can be.”

Former Bison Amanda Smock placed third in the triple jump today in Budapest, Hungary at 13.86 meters, still shy of World Championships B qualifying standard of 14.20.
