Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - July is known as one of the deadliest months out on the roads in Minnesota. So officers are stepping up their patrols.

Starting today, the Department of Public Safety is enforcing safe speeds. "Speed Week" is put in place to combat dangerous driving, which was a contributing factor to 243 deaths statewide in the last two years.

Sgt. Toby Krona, Moorhead Police: "People aren't seeing people. We have a lot of aggressive driving, people trying to get to certain destinations and thinking that speeding is going to help them do that."
