WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — A backcountry ranger is offering a guided hike at the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in western North Dakota.

The Williston Herald reports that John Heiser will be offering the hike on Sunday through some secluded wildlife trails in the park's North Unit. The hike is free.

Heiser has been a backcountry ranger in the area since 1973.

Heiser says there is potential to observe big horn sheep, mule deer, bison and mountain lions.
