Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- It took nearly 2 hours after the start of free agency, for Moorhead's Matt Cullen to find his new home.

TSN first reported that Cullen had agreed to a 2-year, 7-million dollar deal with the Nashville Predators.

It means that this winter Cullen will put on the 7th different jersey of his career.

At age 36, this could be Cullen's last contract. Although I wouldn't bet on it.

Last season, he was one of the most consistent players for the Wild, scoring 27 points in 42 games.

Cullen found out late Wednesday night, that the Wild would not be offering him a contract, ending his 3-year stay in his home state. But, he was prepared for that.

"From the moment they opened things up for phone calls on July 3rd, Nashville was there, on it, and were pursuing pretty heavily, which is nice because it's nice to go to a place where you're wanted and needed. But all along I was working with Minnesota hoping something could get done but in the end there wasn't enough cap space so it just didn't work."
