North Dakota is at the top of the list for housing growth

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- North Dakota lands at the top of yet another national list. This time, housing growth.

The state's is the highest in the entire country. According to new U-S Census Bureau data.

New housing developments are going in everywhere. With cities like Fargo and West Fargo showing tremendous growth.

The state added nearly 74 hundred new housing units in 2012. A growth rate of 2.3%.

That's two percent higher than the national average. And builders here say they're not surprised.

Eric Walter- United Structural Builders: "It's been extremely busy, we've been going from one house to the next, one project to the next. It seems to be that way for most contractors."

Cass County ranked in the top 100 for county housing growth.
