Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- When the Boston Celtics dealt away Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, it was clear they were getting younger.

Today, they introduced a new head coach, that's 5 months younger than Garnett.

Brad Stevens is leaving his college gig at Butler, to replace Doc Rivers on the Celtics bench.

The 36-year old Stevens was the first choice for General manager Danny Ainge.

Stevens coached the last 6 years at Butler in the Horizon league, leading the Bulldogs to back to back national title games in 2010 and 2011.

Stevens says he had no desire to leave Butler, until the Celtics called.

Brad Stevens- New Boston Celtics Head Coach: "Well first of all, like...the Boston Celtics. I mean, that's like Wow! That's an incredible feeling. I love the relational side of making sure that everybody has a great experience and this is a really fulfilling experience. For Rondo and everyone else, I will be very focused on that."
