Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- The many construction projects going on in Fargo-Moorhead this summer could finish later than expected.

Many rainy days in June have kept workers from staying on schedule.

West Fargo City Administrator Jim Brownlee says they have received several requests for extensions from contractors.

The city has 14 open construction projects, including underground work for new subdivisions.

Jim Brownlee- West Fargo City Administrator: "Well, it's certainly delaying. Especially the underground work, that's where the water and rain... And you have to get the water off the fields to start digging again. You can't dig in the mud."

At six, find out why some projects can't be extended, and contractors will just have to find a way to finish on time.
