St. Cloud, MN (WDAY TV)-- A handful of area athletes where on the gridiron for the final time today as high schoolers. That included life long friends from the Heart O'Lakes Conference that finally got to make a connection on the field.

Tucker Forsgren- Pelican Rapids TE: "Awesome, I love practicing with Jordy, I love catching routes from him. It's awesome, we have talked about being teammates before. It's awesome that was like a dream come true a pass from Jordan Hein, it's the best. That's what I was gunning for this whole game."

Jordan Hein- Perham QB: "We have been buddies since we where younger but finally to play football with him was a lot of fun. We said Tucker we are throwing it to you buddy so we got it out to him quick and he made a nice catch on it."

For some just reaching the All-Star Game was an accomplishment.

Steffan Stroh- Underwood DL: My coach talked to me at the end of this school year and he told me he was going to get me into this game and right away I was kind of skeptical being from a nine man school but by god he got me into it. And the game we ended up winning and it was a lot of fun.

Along with the athletes, the area was also represented by 3 coaches who all echoed how proud they where to have programs that got them there.

John Clark Jr- Mahnomen Head Coach: I think it's a credit to our program and you get here because you win games and the players win the games so I'm just fortunate that I'm in a great community that's got a strong tradition and I get to reap the benefits.

All seven of the area athletes in today's game will be continuing their athletic careers in college.
