Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Vibrant, is the only way to explain what the Red River Fairgrounds looked like this morning.
More than ten thousand runners crossed the Run or Dye finish line. And once you see it here, you'll understand why this is not your typical 5-K.
Thousands of people come from all over, here to run a 3.1 mile race. And the big prize, to be covered in color.
Runner: "Orange, pink, purple, blue, yellow, green, all the good ones."
Let's be honest.
Taylor Weiser-Runner: "Color run."
It doesn't matter who you are. Or why you're here.
Anna Maria- Runner: "Running for the dress, getting married!"
This event, looks nuts. And it is.
Anna Maria- Runner: "Those are my friends. First 5k and I finished it. Full of color but I love it."
Early estimates say, up to 12 thousand people packed into the Red River Valley Fairgrounds. Some, coming in from Wahpeton, Alexandria, and even Rugby.
Sarah Rickert- Runner: "I drove four and a half hours to come here."
Some walked it, some ran it.
Sidney: "I started running this summer. So, I decided I'll do a 5K to start it off."
In the end, runners finished in the same state - but maybe not the same shade.
Taylor Weiser-Runner: "Awesome."
Runner: "A blast, lots of fun, lots of color everywhere."
It didn't even matter what you wore, it could be completely off the wall.
Andrea: "What about the tutus?" Ms. Weiser: "My friend was at the store, she goes do you want tutus? And I'm like yes, it's a fun day so we all got tutus."
And for those who didn't even plan on coming,
Jacob Fannik-Runner: "Ya know, I think most of us guys can stand up and say right now we got conned in by our girlfriends. But ya know, it was actually pretty fun. I enjoyed myself it was a good time. What else would you do on a Saturday like this?"
Well, they went a little nuts too.
If you missed out on this 5K the Illuni-night run is just around the corner on September 7th.
