Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- We should learn Monday the fate of the Spirit Lake tribal chairman.
That's when a recall meeting will take place.
The election board validated 547 signatures on the petition.
That petition accuses Roger Yankton's tribal government of corruption and secrecy.
Only eligible Spirit Lake voters will be able to attend the meeting, and only those there will decide whether Yankton stays or goes.
Cheryl Good Iron- Tribal Elder: "This is the only chance they're gonna get. THere's been a lot of concern in the community. They wanted this. They asked for this."
If Yankton is voted out, he'll lose his seat immediately. A second election will take place at the hearing to choose a new chairman.
The recall meeting is at Four Winds School Monday at ten a.m.
