Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - With summer in full swing (finally), your next back yard bar-b-que can't be that far away. And there can be a lot of pressure to make sure everything is grilled to perfection.

From cooking times to heat zones to coordinating a meal on the grill you can take some of the stress away because there's an app for that.

The weather is perfect, family and friends are all together, you cannot drop the ball, or make that the spatula, when it comes to grilling the big meal.

If you're the Grillmaster at your house you'll want to grab your smartphone with your apron.

The GrillStar BBQ Timer and Guide works on your iPhone, iTouch or iPad and can walk you through your entire meal with a virtual grill.

You start by picking what you're going to grill it has a lists in the categories of beef, poultry, pork, seafood, veggies or fruits.

Once you do you can go in and give a name to each piece and then can pick your own flip and done time or better yet, ask GrillStar. It has recommended cook times, settings and instructions and you can just apply it to your meal.

Once all the information is entered, you click add to add each piece on the app, and then on your real grill. When it's time to flip you hear this…and just double click.

And when it's done, same thing. It's that easy.

And one of the best features, if Mom and Dad want steaks, Grandma wants a burger and the kids all want hotdogs and brats, GrillStar can show you how to set up your grill to make sure everything is in the right heat zone and is cooked just right. You can even add notes for next time.

The app can help you rule your grill and make sure your great American summer tradition is a success.

The app is 99 cents in the Apple Market.
