Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- With Oakland University and UMKC bolting from the Summit League, the Bison basketball team is trying to land more big time home games.
Mission accomplished, the Bison will host Conference USA foe Southern Mississippi on November 18th as part of a 2-for-1 deal.
The announcement comes on the heals of NDSU saying that it will play at Ohio State and Notre Dame in December.
The Eagles will be one of the highest-caliber programs to come into the BSA, they went 27-10 last season and reached the quarterfinals of the NIT.
Saul Phillips- NDSU Head Coach: "We had to try and do some sweet talking to make that work. We'll pay the price on the other end, it will be two games there to make up for it. We're in a situation where we need games this year at home. And that's because of what happened in our conference and what happened with the Bracketbuster going away. So here we are, we need home games. We got a good team and it's hard to find them."
UND officially announced a pair of transfers, adding 6-10 Center Chad Calcaterra from Western Nebraska Community College. Calcaterra played his freshman season at Colorado State. Estan Tyler is also coming to UND,
but will have to sit out the up-coming year after transferring from UMKC.
Tyler led the Roos in scoring last season from the point guard position.
