Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- The NBA draft is Thursday, and the Minnesota Timberwolves will pick 9th and 26th in the first round.

Meanwhile, a former Gopher is hoping his name gets called by an NBA team.

Colton Iverson was at a Wolves draft tryout late last week.

Iverson left Minnesota after his junior year, to play his final season at Colorado State.

The Yankton, South Dakota native flourished with the Rams, averaging nearly a double-double per game in his one and only season.

He also helped lead the Rams to an NCAA tournament appearance. Now, he's hoping to take one more big step into the NBA.

"I'm just completely different. I have more of an offensive game. I'm not the slow slug you saw at Minnesota.

I've slimmed down, lost some weight, toned up, and really just improved all around. I knew I had the potential to be here. But, I knew it wouldn't come easy and really, I just put in the work and it worked out."

Iverson ended up at Colorado State, because of now departed head coach Tim Miles.

The former NDSU Head coach originally tried to recruit Iverson to

play for the Bison.
