Libertarian Party is trying to get on the state ballot

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Who wants to think about fall, when we finally have summer here, but one group is trying to get on the ballot in the state.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Who wants to think about fall, when we finally have summer here, but one group is trying to get on the ballot in the state.

Members of the Libertarian Party asked North Dakota residents today, to sign a petition that would allow the party to get on the state ballot for the fall election.

7,000 valid signatures are needed. The Libertarian Party is hoping for 10-thousand. Supporters are hoping for a lower tax structure in the state.

Gerald Bundy- Libertarian Party: "We should have the same access to the ballot as the duopoly that the rest of america has and we hope they understand the democratic process."

Two years ago, a federal appeals court turned down a Libertarian challenge to North Dakota's ballot access laws.
