HETTINGER, N.D. (AP) — A man facing multiple felonies including attempted murder in a Hettinger case has pleaded guilty to a pair of lesser charges and will not see more jail time.

Kevin Gardner was accused of putting a loaded gun to a woman's head last November and pulling the trigger. The gun did not fire.

The Dickinson Press reports that Gardner this week pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and menacing counts. Prosecutors dropped felony counts of attempted murder, reckless endangerment and terrorizing.

Gardner was given credit for time served and put on supervised probation for one year.

Gardner initially was listed as a Dickinson resident, but the most recent court records say he is from Missouri.
