West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The state's best volleyball players will gather at West Fargo High School tonight for the annual Optimist All-Star challenge.

This year's class of players stands out from past years with three players heading to DI schools: Ali Moody and Hadley Steffen to NDSU and Kindred's Kellie Schmit to UND and for those playing, they notice the difference.

Christina Bruenjes, West Fargo-Middle Hitter: “It's a big honor. It's really fun. All these girls hit at you and be up there, same energy and skill level as you do.”

Taylor Preston, North Libero: “It means a lot. My season, we wanted to just being a part of this, being able to play again with all these high school girls that we've been playing against for the last four years. It's an amazing opportunity.”
