Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- If you saw some people soaked in mud walking around town today. I hope you patted them on the back.
I'll show you what I mean. The first ever Hard Charge in West Fargo was held at Red River Valley fairgrounds this morning.
It's an extreme obstacle course over 4 miles, filled with wild challenges and plenty of mud.
There were walls to climb over, monkey bars over water, ditches full of water to run through. Their were heats for fun and heats for glory,
but everyone felt the same once they reached the finish line.
Tatijana Muller- Race Participant: "It was rough!
Megan Swenson- Race Participant: "It was so fun though! I didn't expect it, but your adrenaline kicks in and you just go."
Muller: "Lots of cardio."
Swenson: "Yeah, we had a great team. If it wasn't for our team, we wouldn't have been able to do it."
Michael Mcgourley- UND Student/ Race Participant: "Well, I was trying to carry my shoe and go through the obstacles at the same time. Then I eventually tied it to my neck so I wouldn't have to carry it. It kept hitting the obstacles that you had to climb under so it forced my face down into the mud and the sand."
Reporter: At what point did you lose your shoe?
Mcgourley: "Ah, the very first obstacle when you're running through the mud ditch."
